What you will be doing Working in a 24/7 Service Support Center, the successful candidate will lead, direct and manage a group of 5G engineers supporting the turn-up and troubleshooting of 5G cell sites around the country. The team will consist of Core, RAN, PaaS, Network, Transport, and Infrastructure engineers supporting calls from the field where troubleshooting is required to quickly resolve technical issues. This position will quickly analyze service and system issues, determine corrective actions and provide feedback to respective teams to resolve systemic issues, and will escalate complex issues to additional teams as needed. Day-to-day job responsibilities: Hire and train staff knowledgeable in ORAN, Core, RAN/PaaS and cell site architecture to troubleshoot issues. Engage and escalate issues with Market teams when critical/time sensitive support and resolution is needed. Provide cross-training experiences to NOC Tier I & Tier II team members. Will work with operations to produce MOPs and technical solutions leading to CI/CD & Automation. Prepare and track throughput reports, top issues, and areas for continuous improvement focus. This position will require ability for on-call team support. Skills and experience Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science preferred, or an equivalent combination of highly related experience and education. 10 years+ of related experience including 5+ years of experience managing related teams. Experience managing 4G/5G War Room environments with multiple site commissioning and troubleshooting activities. Able to organize and prioritize dynamic schedules with site turn-ups, balance team work loads, and ensure inbound calls are answered in a reasonable amount of time. Understanding of 5G functional components (Core, RAN, Network, Transport, PaaS and gNB configurations. Ability to use ticket tracking services such as Jira and ServiceOne. Ability to grasp higher-level technology issues and troubleshoot to resolution. Ability to span departments to assist in resolving network event outages. Experience analyzing wireless networks, related equipment, and/or performance. Ability to multitask, meet objectives, and solve issues in stressful situations with high speed of completion and high degree of accuracy. Ability to quickly learn new tools and systems.
