Limbach Facility Services Accountant in Laurel, Maryland

POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

The incumbent performs basic accounting activities associated with payroll record-keeping, general accounting, and or maintaining a complete, accurate general ledger for financial reporting to management. S/he also executes a variety of business-related support tasks, in order to facilitate the effective and efficient operation of the branch location.

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reviews, enters, and or updates payroll-related information for field employees, and performs monthly union reporting, if applicable.

  • Reviews and enters timesheets for field employees, and processes payroll, including weekly payroll checks, direct deposits, and layoff checks, as needed.

  • Performs journal entries and reviews balance sheet reconciliations in an accurate and timely manner.

  • Participates in month-end and close preparation, as well as other related tasks.

  • Completes other record-keeping responsibilities, such as purchase orders, COI’s, contracts, packing slips, etc.

  • Coordinates and processes new hire and employee change paperwork, including E-Verify and tracking of Paid Time Off (PTO) for field employees.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • This position operates primarily in a professional office environment, and routinely utilizes standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets, and printers.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • In performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to talk, hear, perform repetitive motion, and possess an appropriate degree of both visual acuity and manual dexterity.

  • This is considered a sedentary position, which means possible exertion up to ten (10) pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

    TRAVEL:

  • This position may require up to 5% travel.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s Degree in Accounting or related field.

  • 2+ years of relevant, job-related experience.

  • Foundational knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

  • Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite products.

  • Must be organized, attentive to detail, and possess strong analytical skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively (both written and verbally) with diverse audiences.

  • Capacity to produce results when working both independently and as a part of a team.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field.

  • Viewpoint Vista/One construction software experience.
