Lockheed Martin Instrumentation Engineers Manager- Flight Test in Jupiter, Florida

The successful candidate will assume the position of Flight Test Instrumentation Engineers manager reporting directly to the Senior Manager of the Flight Test Instrumentation department within Test and Evaluation in the Sikorsky line of business.

This role is responsible for:

• leading the design, development, and support of Airborne Data Acquisition Systems and other Instrumentation solutions.

• the technical, cost, and schedule execution of Instrumentation engineered solutions for multiple simultaneous programs enterprise wide.

• providing leadership necessary to pro-actively identify and resolve issues that may impact the ability to achieve Mission Success.

• leading and/or overseeing estimating, planning, and development activities across the full Test and Evaluation life cycle, ensuring the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools are applied.

• ensuring employee development and engagement, and will be expected to participate in a leadership capacity within Flight Test in support of various ESH, employee engagement, and Enterprise Excellence initiatives.

Additional job responsibilities will also include:

• Responsibility for leadership and continued development of an effective functional group, including staff recruitment, performance management, manpower planning, and personnel development and recognition.

• Development of estimates and the management of projects within assigned budget and schedules, including the development of build schedule and the appraisal, reporting of status and resolution of schedule conflicts.

• Make work assignments, coach and mentor team members, and support the development Instrumentation engineering competencies.

• Development and utilization of continuous improvement methodology to achieve and sustain Enterprise Excellence standards, including the period assessment and revision of standard work.

• Fostering effective working relationships in the Instrumentation discipline within Sikorsky and across all of Lockheed Martin.

• Enforcement of and timely resolution of all concerns regarding ESH, FOD, and Tool control requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

BS degree in Engineering w/14+ years experience or MS degree in Engineering w/12+ years experience

This position requires proven knowledge and experience within Instrumentation.

Candidate must be hands on and demonstrate extensive experience within flight test.

Excellent written and oral skills as well as computer proficiency using Microsoft office products is required.

The preferred candidate will have 5+ years experience in flight testing.

Occasional second shift support and travel to offsite locations will be required.

They will have subject matter expertise within Instrumentation and Data Acquisition Systems and a proven technical track record.

Desired Skills:

Experience leading a large team is desired.

Ability to obtain a security clearance is preferred.
