To succeed in this role, you will need to plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. Candidate must lead with integrity and reliability and have the ability to manage self and others with urgency, practicality and accountability when providing client services. The Controller will be a full-time employment opportunity and will be located in the Irvine, California region.

Your responsibilities in this role

  • Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them monthly

  • Support Finance Department initiatives, including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, through research, planning and implementation, as needed

  • Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis

  • Manage finance department operations, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

  • Review deliverables of self and team to align with client expectations

  • Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports

  • Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation

  • Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management

  • Drive the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure the timely cash collection

  • Assess, execute and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

  • Able to perform additional tasks beyond formal job duties Requirements - Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

  • Skilled in analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations

  • Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

  • Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills highly desired

  • Ability to meet deadlines

  • Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus

  • Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

  • Account reconciliation experience

  • Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus

  • CPA/MBA preferred
