Newell Brands Sr. Manager, Sales Finance in Huntersville, North Carolina

­ Position Title: Senior Manager, Sales Finance

Location: Huntersville, NC

Reports To: Director, Sales Finance

Overview:

The Sr. Manager, Sales Finance will provide financial support for the Sales Finance team of the Commercial Business Unit. This person will work closely with Sales & Sales Enablement teams as well as business partnering with tactical pricing to unlock capabilities to support improved revenue & profitability. This role will develop superior relationships with key individuals cross-functionally to provide insight to maximize financial performance and plan attainment. The applicant should be comfortable working in a fast paced, flexible environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Business partner for the Sales teams

  • Support monthly financial estimate process for Sales Finance for all brands (RCP, RC, Quickie)

  • Lead the Gross to Net Programming including analysis of Customer Programs / Contracts

  • Support the approval process for any tactical pricing decisions needed through the PE process for all brands

  • Lead the month end close process for Sales Finance including the Day 2 Flash, Balance Sheet Reconciliations, Journal Entries, and Audit Support

  • Improve cash flow by developing model for tracking / supporting AR and Customer Accruals

  • Provide ROI Analysis for Platinum / SG&A Spending

  • Own cash discounts and align customers to a more focused strategy to drive savings in the P&L

  • Support various Newell Projects

  • Develop monthly Sales Finance Reporting package and distribute monthly including reporting by sales / customer / channel / vertical / end user

  • Track R&O for sales opportunities

  • Collaborate with sales finance global team to streamline workflow

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in finance or related field, preferably in the Consumer Products industry

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics preferred; MBA a plus.

  • 3+ years in a supervisory or management role

  • Significant experience with SAP and Hyperion is strongly preferred

  • Experience across financial disciplines (Sales & Marketing) preferred

  • Strong presentation and communication skills, ability to present complex financial information in simple terms

  • Proven maturity level/presence with senior executives, comfortable dealing with ambiguity and handling confidential information

  • The ability to influence, without direct authority, and to articulate a clear vision and represent it convincingly

  • Demonstrated ability to foster and develop strong finance teams that collaborate cross functionally to drive growth and profitability

  • Ability to assess risks and opportunities within complex business situations

  • Ability to work in an organized, detailed manner under tight deadlines; demonstrated ability to recommend and make decisions quickly under any situation

  • Proven organizational skills, detail-orientation and solid work ethic
