Lockheed Martin is looking for a highly motivated Starlab Lead Systems Engineer, Senior Manager . In this role, you will:

• Lead the Program's Systems Engineering efforts to include technical direction, planning, and staffing

• Manage Systems and Project Engineering resources for the program, and provide programmatic and proposal support

• Provide guidance to a Systems Engineering team to include full Systems Engineering lifecycle processes, from architecture and requirements development through system operations and integration

• Provide oversight and support to critical program area Systems Engineering skill development

• Perform staffing and performance responsibilities, working with HR and using established processes

• Establish, manage, and communicate team expectations, goals, roles, responsibilities, and objectives

• Use your background and functional leadership experience to help deliver on this critical program

• Use your excellent interpersonal skills to coordinate and resolve issues across programs, identify risks, and appropriate mitigation plans

• Collaborate with customer representatives for critical space-based daily operations and distributed multi-element deliveries and activities

• Lead and perform technical planning, system integration, validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or closely related field; or equivalent experience/combined education

• Systems Engineering process knowledge or experience in human space flight and mission systems and complete lifecycle experience with Engineering processes and reviews

• Technical leadership with proven experience leading employees and team leaders to perform productively and foster relationships in a cross-functional team environment

• Demonstrated Program/Project Management and/or leadership skills

Desired Skills:

• Significant experience with crewed spacecraft and mission systems architecture design, development, integration, Verification & Validation (V&V), and flight operations

• Experience in human space flight, mission operations, and commercial programs

• Understanding of Model Based Systems Engineering processes, principles, and tools

• Broad experience of Systems Engineering life cycle process and tools

• Proposal preparation and negotiation experience

• Knowledge of program management, finance, contracts, Earned Value Management and demonstrated commercial business insight

• Recognized as an authority in systems thinking techniques with the demonstrated ability to apply them to a wide range of complex problems and train others in their application

• Space and Mission system design and V&V experience, with one or more subsystems or fields outside of Systems Engineering (e.g., Crew Systems, Environmental Control and Life Support Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Propulsion, Software, etc.)

• Master’s Degree in Systems Engineering, INCOSE Certification, or relevant Graduate Certificate
