Onit Business Analyst in Houston, Texas


This person will be responsible for collaborating with business, project management, and technical teams to conduct business and data analysis to drive Professional Services implementations to completion. Primary responsibilities for this role will include providing business expertise across multiple project implementations, advising customers on the use of the platform to support their business activities, and documenting current state and future state technical and functional requirements.


  • Help customers recognize their goals and drive towards a successful, on-time delivery

  • Provide strong technical understanding of Onit products with the ability to discuss and demonstrate the full platform and how it may be configured to meet a client’s business needs

  • Act as a liaison and subject matter expert for internal and external cross-functional teams

  • Provide functional guidance and mentoring to other members of the team

  • Forge strong partnerships with customers and colleagues

  • Engage with customers and facilitate informed functional and technical requirements gathering sessions

  • Assist with gathering, developing, documenting and communicating business and technical requirements

  • Develop process flows, guide end user design sessions and capture detailed notes for future implementation needs

  • Create and/or improve implementation templates to support requirements gathering, design, and training

  • Follow implementation methodology for all customers and tailor to meet each project’s unique business needs

  • Share relevant prior experiences and best practices with customers and colleagues

  • Work well in both individual and team settings both on and off client site

  • Triage and troubleshoot client tickets to ensure timely response/resolution, support communication with all relevant parties

  • Test existing or new features, components and processes prior to releasing functionality to clients throughout the SDLC

  • Assist with development of test cases and test plans

  • Identify requirement or design risks, analyze data completeness, quality and accuracy, provide data mapping and cleansing guidance, performing ad hoc Analysis to support the project as needed

  • Collaboration with key stakeholders

  • Create end user training materials and facilitate training sessions as part of client implementations

  • The individual must be a self-starter and be able to drive projects to completion under tight timelines and competing priorities

  • Other duties as assigned

    What we are looking for:

  • Bachelors’ Degree is preferred

  • 2-4 years of experience is preferred, but other relevant experience can be substituted

  • Experience with creating data and process flow diagrams with attention to details

  • Ability to breakdown complex business process concepts into integral components

  • Data analysis and data modeling skills via the use of Excel or other tools

  • Strong communication and writing skills

  • Determination in pursuit of process details and engaging relevant contacts to help to get answers

  • Ability to see the big picture and zoom in on the relevant details is a plus
