Job Description

Coordinates construction and maintenance projects in our plants and gathering systems.  Actively involved in the planning, execution, and inspections of the various maintenance projects needed on the plant and field systems. The Maintenance and Construction Technician coordinates various system maintenance projects (line repairs, line isolations, installation of launchers/receivers, relief valves, closure valve maintenance, plant maintenance, etc.), and oversees at least one crew if not multiple crews on various jobs.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Organizes and plans out job(s).  As part of planning process, determines materials and equipment necessary for job and arrange for procurement of the materials and equipment in a cost-effective manner.

  • Performs maintenance work (equipment operator, etc. ) at job site and provides work

direction to other company personnel and contract personnel at job site, particularly in respect to safety procedures and work to be done. 

  • Inspects the work of company and contract personnel to ensure compliance with company standards, government regulations, etc.

  • Maintains work order status log summaries/database and provides equipment/pipeline repair histories.

  • Performs various administrative duties (i.e. review of field work tickets and invoices for accuracy and to ensure justification; collection/verification of time reports to verify contractor charges; completion of property damage reports, pipeline repair reports, etc.).

  • Communicates and interacts with co-workers, producers, property owners, tenants, manufacturer’s representatives and suppliers as well as other employees and members of the public in a professional manner.

  • Performs other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Possess a valid driver’s license and will be required to obtain a CDL.

  • Maintenance experience: qualified as a certified welder, preferable. Will also consider other applicable general maintenance / construction experience.

  • Has thorough knowledge and understanding of pipeline repair and maintenance. Having knowledge of plant maintenance, preferred.

  • Has knowledge of safety rules and practices and a satisfactory safety record.

  • Able to use hand tools, power tools, and electronic diagnostic equipment, understand equipment and repair manuals, provide understandable and legible reports, and examine/analyze equipment for defects.

  • Have demonstrated leadership skills, able to provide leadership and to guide and coordinate work activities being performed by company or contract personnel.

  • Possess a history of working as part of a team, maintain professional relationships with internal and external customers and be extremely dependable, reliable and able to work under stress of deadlines.

  • Can assume responsibility and perform duties in a safe manner under potentially stressful and/or hazardous conditions.

  • Demonstrates sound judgment with the ability to make decisions.

  • Be open to learning and use analytical and troubleshooting skills with a creative approach to solve complex technical problems.

  • Able to influence and persuade others to maximize value through integrated decision-making process.

  • Use a forward-thinking approach to work and willingness to keep learning and developing skills.

  • Willing to work rotating shifts and overtime as needed.

  • Currently live, or be willing to relocate, to within 35 miles of the reporting location.

  • Strong communication skills, interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships. 

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. 

SPECIAL DEMANDS:

  • This job operates in both inside gas plant conditions as well as in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity. 

  • Noise level may be loud at times.

  • Regularly stoops, squats, kneels and crouches for durations up to 3 minutes. 

  • Periodically pulls/pushes doors open to move around the gas plant. 

  • Occasionally exerts pulling force of 130 pounds. 

  • Frequently may lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds. 

  • Occasionally may climb A-frame ladders.

  • Occasional travel will be required.
