Lockheed Martin Systems Engineer, Diminishing Manufacturing Source (Level 4) in Hill Air Force Base, Utah

Description: Join the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Field Sustainment (AFS) team as a Diminishing Manufacturing Source (DMS) Systems Engineer! This position is located at our Hill Air Force Base, Utah (Ogden) facility and will be the focal point for identifying all issues regarding aircraft part obsolescence within the Ogden F-16 Technical Coordinating Group (TCG) for the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) F-16 Sustainment Program. The DMS Engineer is a critical link to assist the F-16 TCG with sustainment of FMS F-16s worldwide and to successfully mitigate industry part/component obsolescence issues.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Candidate will perform DMS management duties which will incorporate the analysis of technical and part obsolescence data such as Bill of Material (BOM), web research, and government/industry reports, to identify potential impacts to the FMS F-16 Sustainment Program.

• Develop, coordinate, and support the presentation of DMS issues to the F-16 TCG and applicable F-16 FMS Program Offices.

• Establishing and maintaining working relationships with the Lockheed Martin (LM) F-16 DMS team, USAF F-16 DMS Team, Organic/Commercial Commodity Engineering teams, and all other parties involved in DMS for the FMS Sustainment F-16 program is required.

• In addition, the candidate will be involved with the population of the F-16 DMS tool which is used by LM Aero/Ft Worth F-16 DMS team for tracking, coordinating, and identifying F-16 related DMS cases.

• Candidate must be a motivated self-starter, able to work alone or in a small team with little to no daily supervision.

• Work involves creating and maintaining data spreadsheets and researching part information and availability.

• A flexible mix of Teleworking and In-Office work (at Hill AFB) is anticipated.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Basic Qualifications:

The following Basic Qualifications are skills that a candidate must possess to be considered for this position:

• Must possess or is currently enrolled in a University/College working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline such as Electrical Engineering, Mechanical, Logistics, Systems Engineering, or other technical discipline

• At least 8 years professional work experience.

• Experience using Microsoft Office tools emphasizing Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

• Experience working with military, civilian or commercial aircraft such as in an aircraft maintenance or aircrew environment.

Desired Skills:

The following Desired Skills are not required but are those skills that would set a candidate apart from other candidates:

• Experience in Electrical Engineering or Components Engineering with emphasis upon System Integration.

• Experience in Systems Engineering disciplines with understanding of the total lifecycle (architecture, requirements, design, analysis, integration, verification, production and sustainment) including the following key competencies: Supplier Interface, Proposal Analysis, Risk and Opportunity Assessment.

• Experience working with Suppliers and/or Supply Chain engineers

• Understanding and strong appreciation for practicing and developing Standard Work processes and tools.

• Experience with Relational Databases, MS Access, and/or Oracle

• Experience with material shortages or parts obsolescence.
