Boeing at Hill Air Force Base (Layton/Ogden Utah area) is seeking a Mid-Level Parts, Materials, and Processes (PM&P) Engineer located in Hill AFB, UT. This position will support the Minuteman III ICBM Ground Subsystems Sustainment Contract. Boeing has supported the Minuteman ICBM since the 1950s and plans to continue our support for many more years. We anticipate the capture of the Ground System Subsystem Support Contract Phase 2 (GSSC2) which have an 18 year period of performance.
Our PM&P Engineer will lead parts and materials related development and problem investigation efforts in support of the General Sustainment efforts. The selected candidate should have broad parts and materials engineering experience. An understanding of basic part construction and materials applications and usage is needed. Experience working with failure analysis labs to define and implement post mortem analyses and destructive physical analyses is desired. The selected candidate will support development efforts where new parts are developed and qualified, as well as perform Lot Acceptance Test (LAT). Having experience in EE design tools will be beneficial. Experience in developing PMP Plans, as well as supporting parts and material test plans and procedures, or developing test reports is also helpful.
Position Responsibilities Include:
Assist with definition of requirements for tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes used in the engineering design, manufacture and/or maintenance of Boeing and Customer products
Draft engineering specifications and other documents to manage the deployment of tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes
Assist in evaluation of emerging technologies for potential application to business/program needs
Assist with development and qualification of new tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes to meet requirements
Perform routine tests and audits to qualify suppliers to applicable requirements
Conduct routine analysis to determine performance or reasons for failures of tools, materials, parts or processes
Assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions
Develop computer and production systems to satisfy user requirements
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
1+ years of experience preparing and coordinating technical documentation (engineering drawings, specifications, statements of work)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
1+ years of active experience with Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) and/or test equipment
Experience with direct, face-to-face interactions with customers
Experience supporting development efforts where new parts are developed and qualified, as well as perform Lot Acceptance Test (LAT)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
