Description Robert Half is looking for an ambitious Controller to join a well-respected services company. In this leadership role, you will manage an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, you will be planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff. The permanent Controller position is situated in the Frisco, Texas area.
How you will make an impact
Support Finance Department initiatives, including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, through research, planning and implementation, as needed
Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible
Complete month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts, and handle G/L analysis
Analyze deliverables of self and team to confirm they meet client expectations
Respond on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Direct finance department activities, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash
Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners
Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts
Support punctual cash collection by managing the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques
Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies Requirements - Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Microsoft Excel experience
Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired
Outstanding analytical, quantitative and social skills
Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Great written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued
Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
