Description
If you're an experienced accountant with a keen eye for accuracy, there's an exciting opportunity through Robert Half for you to check out at a firm in the Professional Services industry. The responsibilities of a Staff Accountant entail preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will have charge over many aspects of internal reporting. Your duties will also include participating in compliance, reviewing schedules for the reporting processes, and staying connected with our external auditors throughout quarterly reviews and annual audits. A very involved position, the Staff Accountant spends a good deal of time producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Your responsibilities in this role
Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed
Conduct month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Take part in various department-wide initiatives
Be responsible for analysis of income statements and balance sheets and communicate findings to management
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Assist in monthly financial close workbook preparation, including annual closing process
Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Report on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner
Maintain intricate journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Requirements - Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills
The ideal candidate will be highly-skilled with exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills
Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Current and relevant ERP system experience
1+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
High attention to detail
Microsoft Excel experience
Foundational knowledge in Excel Formulas
Command of QuickBooks
Strong familiarity with general ledger
Comprehensive knowledge of Analytical Skills
