Conducts patient interviews by phone and in-person for the purpose of establishing an account by gathering demographic, insurance, and clinical information to ensure appropriate patient scheduling and optimal financial clearance. Educates patients regarding financial responsibilities and collects out of pocket fees.Education - Required:High School Diploma/GEDEducation - Preferred:Associate's Degree Health care or related fieldExperience - Required:1 year Customer service or1 year Healthcare environment such as a hospital and/or physician officeExperience - Preferred:2 years registration/insurance verification in a health care settingKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Required:Computer and typing proficiency.Must be able to interact with a diverse customer base, including those seeking emergency services or treatment due to an accident or illness.Must successfully pass the required training in two attempts or less.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Preferred:Knowledge of medical terminology.Bi-lingual - Spanish/English.Licensure - Required:Licensure - Preferred:BLS - Basic Life SupportAdditional Qualifications:BLS - Basic Life Support required for employees working at the 17th Street location within 90 days of hireInfluenza vaccination is required at most LVHN facilities for all colleagues with patient contact unless medically contraindicated or due to a bona fide religious belief or practice, and is strongly encouraged for all colleagues.
