The Manager of Implementations is Responsible for the development, execution, and management of account service and implementations activities, successfully implementing the strategy and managing the strategy on an on-going basis. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing the implementation Coordinator teams for both new and renewing accounts and transactional plan changes for all Large and Key Groups.

  • Directs the development, execution, and management of account services activities including program sales support, program implementation and account specific business plan development and execution.

  • Oversees the development of management control processes for customers and implementation plans to ensure customer needs are met, contractual obligations are attained or exceeded, and quality improvement initiatives are executed when needed.

  • Determines project scope; develops resource, risk, quality, cost, and scope management plans.

  • Ensures completion of all critical deliverables from multiple disciplines within Anthem to assure timely and accurate implementation of our customers' benefit plans.

  • Oversees the development of responses to proposals based on customer expectations and requests.

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with Sales and Account Management to build organizational credibility between Implementations and the Markets.

  • Establishes and executes best practices and controls to ensure optimal performance on all procedures, files, and interfaces.

  • Provides subject matter expertise in response to day to day business issues; researches applicable subject matter practices; and remains aware of industry trends.

  • Routinely supports the Sales and Account Management Team at account meetings and Sales Finalist Presentations in the effort of securing business growth for the company.

  • Ensures all critical deliverables from multiple functions within the company are met timely and accurately according to our customers selected benefit plans and performance guarantees.

  • Support business strategies for success of overall end to end implementation processes as well as corporate projects and initiatives.

  • Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports.


Requires BA/BS in related field; 7-9 years’ experience in health insurance service operations, particularly enrollment and billing or account implementations, or account management experience working with implementations; or equivalent combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. MBA or PMP certification preferred. Sales/Account Management experience preferred.

Preference is for hire to be physically located in one of the Anthemlocations. WAH considerations must belocated in an Anthem state.
