Data Centers are the brains of a company, storing and processing huge amounts of data. They’re highly important to our customers – which means they’re highly important to us. Our IT Data Center Operations team’s remit extends from design, evaluation and analysis to testing, debugging and the implementation of applications programs. Supporting system hardware, peripherals and software within data centers, we identify, isolate and resolve problems, implement immediate resolutions when necessary and manage systems consoles from an operational and troubleshooting perspective.
The Data Center Operations Manager is responsible for the management of the physical infrastructure for commercial, public sector, healthcare and other multi-cloud platform environments within multiple, geographically disparate data center spaces, and the effective management of the data center operations staff within those regions. This individual should be an authority on “all things” data center-related.

Our company is growing exponentially, and its continued success will be dependent upon the Data Center Operations Manager’s ability to be flexible, while working in an ever-changing, fast-paced, high-energy, environment; overseeing key deliverables for multiple projects simultaneously.
Capacity planning with the ability to create and maintain both high-level floor-plans, detailed elevation documents and cabling design diagrams (a.k.a. cut sheets).
A subject matter expert with the ability to communicate with employees on all levels. Must be able to provide brief, yet distinct and accurate summary reports to management, while at the same time, having the capability to provide granular, detail-oriented technical guidance to team members when necessary.
Developing, maintaining and operating within a budget.
Management and oversight of training, including interdepartmental cross-utilization training.
The effective management of resources and occasional hands-on support, ensuring timely completion of the following tasks:
The installation and integration of cabinets, PDU's and peripherals (power cables, extensions, etc.)
The installation of servers, storage devices, network gear and other hardware
Performing fiber and cable assembly and installation and testing
Troubleshooting hardware failures
Performing hardware upgrades
Providing remote hands for break/fix support, including on-call
Participating in Emergency and Preventative Maintenance windows and bridge (conference) calls during outages
Working on and completing assigned service requests
Performing vendor and customer escorts and tours of facilities
Assisting with data center audits and completing all required documentation and performing equipment inventory
Completing walk-through's, performing audiovisual inspections; identifying and addressing any potential issues
Identifying, completing and tracking projects, tasks and action items that are assigned, following existing workflow processes and procedures based on industry standards
An understanding of data center best practices, standards and guidelines (e.g. TIA-942, TIA-568X, IEEE 802.X, and others)
5 to 7 years of data center operations management within an enterprise organization
BS in Computer Science, Information System or equivalent work experience
Occasional travel required. Must be able to travel for work up to 25% of the time
