Honeywell Sr Adv Appl/Sys Sales Engineer in Des Plaines, Illinois

Join a high-performance technical sales team as Senior Technical Sales Engineer in the Gas Processing area of UOP Process Technologies (UPT). The position will be based in Des Plaines, IL and will report to the Technical Sales Leader – Gas Processing and Hydrogen.

You will be primarily accountable for assessing technical needs and requirements of Sulfur Recovery inquiries and supporting sales in the development of technical and commercial proposals for sulfur recovery units. You will interface with our customers, our engineering disciplines, and participate in business and sales strategy meetings. Typical projects will range in value from $1 – $100 million dollars.

A bachelor’s degree in engineering is required. You must also have at least 5 years of experience in sulfur recovery, gas processing, or closely related technical field.

To succeed in this position, you should have excellent communication skills, problem-solving skills and ability to drive technical results. You must be resourceful, analytical, adaptable, and organized with ability to build internal relationships and relationships with key suppliers.

Prior technical sales, sales support, or process engineering experience is a plus.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Independently provide pre-sales technical support for the development of complex Sulfur Recovery solutions

  • Use in-depth product/technology knowledge to provide technical expertise to sales staff and the customers through sales presentations and technical proposals

  • Configure and run process simulations for sulfur recovery and gas processing technologies

  • Develop technical proposals and deliverables as response to customer inquiries

  • Develop and articulate quantifiable economic benefits of our solutions

  • Prepare and present commercial summaries to senior management for project opportunities

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.

  • 5+ years of experience in selling/proposing licensed technologies and/or process equipment, and/or engineering design services in oil and gas industry.

  • Ability to travel up to 25% annually to UOP customers worldwide

WE VALUE

  • Prior experience proposing/selling licensed process technology and/or equipment

  • Prior process engineering experience

  • Prior experience with Sulfur Recovery technologies

  • Prior experience with Gas Processing technologies

  • Ability to simulate sulfur recovery and/or gas treating/conditioning processes

  • Ability to conduct CAPEX/OPEX economic analysis to determine optimum solutions

  • Prior experience with preparation of technical proposals and cost workbooks

  • Ability to size process equipment and prepare equipment lists and data sheets

  • Ability to review vendor quotes

  • Ability to drive design review meetings with execution and management

  • Prior experience with commercial contracts and technical attachments

  • Prior field experience in commissioning/startup of sulfur recovery or gas processing systems/complexes

  • Prior experience with Aspen, Unisim, ProTreat, and Hysis simulation tools

  • Prior experience with XaitPorter
