The closing responsibilities include but are not limited to benefit related journal entries, allocations and intercompany transactions, and payroll, burdens and settlements analysis. This individual will assist with generating reporting, performing account reconciliations, SOX controls, and regular flux analysis.The ideal candidate will have core general ledger accounting background, be able to work across multiple disciplines, be able to pick up new responsibilities quickly and enjoy designing and implementing new processes.Duties and Responsibilities *Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations and monthly/quarterly deliverables related to compensation, payroll and other areas as needed. *Lead certain account or processes such as predetermined labor allocations and intercompany allocations methodology, application, and automation. *Lead process improvement related initiatives such as miscellaneous receivables, intercompany invoicing and reconciliation, various documentation and efficiency improvements, other areas as needed. *Perform SOX controls and provide support for internal and external audits. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities *Knowledge of GAAP including technical accounting principles. *Knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley 404 requirements and ability to perform key controls over financial reporting. *Strong analytical skills as well as written and oral communication skills. *Ability to solve complex problems; good judgment and decision-making ability. *Good organizational skills with an ability to juggle multiple tasks to effectively achieve results. *Commitment to meeting deadlines while adhering to a high level of attention to detail. *Public accounting experience and/or Utility/Energy industry experience preferred. *Strong knowledge of MS Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Education and Experience *Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Accounting. *5-8 years related experience. *CPA or CMA preferred.
