Robert Half Staff Accountant in DENVER, Colorado

Description Robert Half is looking to find a talented, efficient Staff Accountant to join an esteemed organization. In this position, the Staff Accountant prepares journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. Many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility during the monthly close. You will also participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and look over schedules for the reporting processes. A highly involved position, it works to produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Based in the Denver, Colorado area, this company is offering a short-term contract / temporary opportunity that's sure to challenge as well as reward effort.

Your responsibilities in this role

  • Be a part of various department-wide initiatives

  • Conduct month end close, journal entries, without supervision

  • Ready complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

  • Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

  • Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules

  • Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed

  • Keep up fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

  • Report on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner

  • Be responsible for analysis of income statements and balance sheets and communicate findings to management

  • Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP Requirements - Strong analytical skills, with the ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis

  • Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment

  • Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines

  • Knowledgeable of ERP systems

  • Recent and relevant accounting experience

  • Payroll tax experience

  • Auditing experience

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel

  • Solid understanding of account reconciliation

  • Command of Retirement Account

  • Competent with spreadsheets and databases

  • Be detailed, flexible, and organized

  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

  • Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

  • Self-starter and strong ethical standards

  • Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
