Caterpillar’s Resource Industries Operations and Products Division is currently seeking an Off-Highway Truck Battery Electric Integration Engineer for its Decatur, IL location. You will be responsible for leading machine integration for battery electric Off-Highway Truck NPI programs. As a Senior Engineer you will cascade requirements to system engineering teams, and identify and resolve integration, audit, build, and reliability issues to deliver quality products to our customers.
Primary focal point for overall machine technical content, scope, and specifications.
Responsible for cascading requirements to component, system, and subsystem teams.
Chairs Space Claim meetings, performs machine level motion and kinematic studies, performs vehicle level safety and serviceability audits, manages audit issues list, and works with component and system teams to resolve prototype and pilot phases build and reliability issues.
Develops and maintains overall machine layout and arrangements for Off-Highway Trucks.
Contributes to the concept, development, and design of complex components, subsystems, or processes.
Supports propulsion and retarding performance analyses.
Collaborates closely with all supporting system design teams and with downstream supporting teams such as supply chain and manufacturing.
Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Engineering curriculum.
6 plus years of job-related experience.
Must have Pro/E or Creo 3D modeling experience.
Top Candidates Will Also Have
Good knowledge of basic PC software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Be capable of managing shifting priorities while maintaining good interpersonal skills in a team environment.
Understanding of print reading and GD&T.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
Previous experience with product, process and machine design and integration.
Familiarity with the NPI process.
Domestic and global relocation is available.
This position may require 25% travel.
