An exciting opportunity is being offered through Accountemps for a Tax Preparer based in the Davenport, Iowa area. The prime responsibilities of the Tax Preparer are preparing simple and complex, individual and small business State and Federal tax returns. How you will make an impact
Assist clients with incoming calls to facilitate tax questions and set appointments
Undertake other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned
Equip the Tax software application with appropriate data
Reach out to clients to gather required information/documents
Conclude and invoice for form preparation fees
Hand-operate transaction tax returns utilizing various methods (Paper, E File, EDI Upload) with various government agencies

Requirements
Ability to multitask and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
Data entry, document management, file creation and previous records experience required
1+ year experience preparing tax returns
Strong communication skills and able to receive criticism well
AA or BS/BA in Accounting or finance preferred
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Trust and estate tax experience preferred
Deep understanding of individual taxes
Multi-state tax experience desired
Expertise in TaxWise
