SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

The LMS Training Coordinator primarily manages data integrity in the Learning Management System (LMS). This role is responsible for maintaining training assignments, uploading completion credit, troubleshooting system issues and/or user error, creating new content items for learners, and running reports.

SCOPE OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Administers and Maintains the Learning Management System (LMS)

  • Processes employee training records

  • Manages curricula in the LMS

  • Creates new LMS Items

  • Creates, updates, and closes Scheduled Offerings in the LMS

  • Works with Compliance/Legal to develop and maintain comprehensive training matrix

  • Develops appropriate Assignment Profiles to automate learning assignments

  • Provides data validation & correction as needed

  • Uploads learner completion credit into the LMS

  • Owns the process of loading new content into the LMS

  • Creates AICC wrapper acknowledgments in the LMS

  • Uploads and maintains question banks for the Exam functionality in the LMS

  • Tests LMS functionality after quarterly SuccessFactors updates

  • Recommends new approaches to maximize efficient utilization of the LMS

  • Develops new SCORM content using Articulate Storyline 2

  • Troubleshoots learner issues

  • Delivers training to new learners on how to use the LMS

  • Runs reports to demonstrate the overall health of the learning function

  • All other duties as assigned by management

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

  • Experience: 2+ years administrating a Learning Management System (LMS). SuccessFactors experience strongly preferred.

  • Skills:

  • Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access and Outlook).

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

  • Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to employees of the organization.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Learning Management systems.

  • The successful candidate must be resourceful, adaptable, and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that is constantly changing.

  • Ability to get along well with others.

  • Must have the ability to learn STCW and Coast Guard regulations.

    DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

Eyesight: Functional, correctable to 20/20

Hearing: Functional, correctable to normal to perceive sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction; Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make the discriminations in sound.

Speech: Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word.

Mobility: Unencumbered by physical limitations to perform the following activities: Sedentary work in an office environment that includes frequent sitting, occasional standing and walking, gross and fine motor dexterity for typing and reasonable lifting of office products up to 10 lbs.

HOURS OF WORK

Work hours to be assigned by the L&D Shared Services Supervisor. Regular and reliable attendance is required.
