Sr. Data Analyst The Senior Research Analyst is responsible for working with the business to develop the strategy and implement research that answers business questions and provides insights into corrective actions to solve business issues. Responsible for research strategy, identification of the type of research as well as collects, analyzes, and reports member and marketplace information to the organization. This position conducts research studies and complex analyses regarding member and non-member needs, attitudes, and experiences; competitive threats and marketplace trends; and/or geographic and demographic conditions in order to meet corporate goals and objectives. This position performs at the highest professional/technical level in marketing research. Responsibilities: Responsible for Membership and Insurance operations, including Data Wrangling and ETL Development, Business Intelligence, and Predictive Modeling. Identifies strategy for research, type of study required, and conducts research studies and complex analyses. Includes research of consumer expectations, preferences, and usage of products, services, and channels; brand perceptions and satisfaction with relationship to the organization as well as products and services; competitor pricing, marketing, sales, and operations; market size, penetration, and potential; and demographic and psychographic trends. Develops strategy and identifies and implements appropriate: research design and sampling, data collection and information gathering (e.g., using CATI, IVR, internet, databases, focus groups), data processing and tabulation (e.g., using SPSS, SAS), statistical analysis (e.g., correlation, regression, significance testing, factor analysis, conjoint analysis, segmentation), and reporting. Develop and manage project schedules and budgets. Consult, negotiate, and coordinate with Auto Club departments/staff to understand business objectives and to define research objectives. Collect data and interpret information; perform statistical calculations and develop models; design, produce, and deliver research tables, charts, reports, and presentations. Develop innovative reporting to identify areas of opportunity for the Club. For example, look at satisfaction by service, day of week, time of day, etc. to identify areas for improvement in service delivery. Consult with and manage external research service, database, and technology suppliers. Solicit and evaluate research proposals and select suppliers. Negotiate costs, schedules, reports and other deliverables to achieve research objectives. Communicate research findings, identify trends, and make recommendations. Work with business teams to identify business implications based on research findings and to develop and implement business initiatives Coordinate with General Counsel, IT, Marketing Database, and other departments to implement research initiatives. Monitor fieldwork and suppliers. Ensure data integrity and appropriate use of research. Report to management on research project status and results. Initiate and chair meetings. Interact with AAA National’s research team and other AAA clubs’ researchers. Exchange research findings, as appropriate. Participate in and support cross-functional teams, department planning, project status review, and other meetings as requested. Travel as necessary on Auto Club business. Attend seminars and training. Participate in professional organizations. Remain current on new methods, technologies, laws, or regulations that may impact job duties. Perform related duties as assigned. Education BA/BS required in Engineering or Science or equivalent work experience. Emphasis in research and different types of research methodology, marketing, and/or business preferred. MA/MS/MBA or other appropriate advanced degree preferred. Requirements Minimum 2 years’ experience with SQL required Knowledge and use of statistics, statistical modeling, database management, data interpretation, and/or data science is a plus Python and R experience a plus Tableau or Power BI experience a plus Advanced analytical skills a plus Effective interpersonal skills; must be able to communicate with C-Level executives and relevant stakeholders Advanced ability to effectively work simultaneously on multiple projects Strong organizational, time and budget management skills.
