HNTB Highway Engineer II in Concord, New Hampshire

Primary Focus Will Include:

  • Collaborating with a multi-discipline team to achieve successful completion of small to complex projects throughout Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont.

  • Coordinating with team members to progress projects and build effective relationships.

  • Working alongside some of the region’s best engineers to prepare and/or check reports, plans, calculations, estimates, specifications, and designs associated with roadway transportation projects.

  • Assisting with project management duties, including control of project quality, budget, and scope.

  • Understanding, communicating, and developing solutions to project challenges.

  • Additional assignments identified by senior engineering staff to fulfill project requirements.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Design experience on MaineDOT, NHDOT, VTrans, and/or projects.

  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification

  • Microstation and Inroads experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

What You'll Need

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Completes assigned work within the schedule and number of hours provided.

  • Responsible for preparation and/or modification for select portions of project reports, plans, designs, and calculations.

  • Develops project quantities and assists with development of cost estimates.

  • Assists engineering teams with organization and administrative support of design files.

  • Able to self-sufficiently complete various tasks and duties including but not limited to research, data collection, field investigations, development, and design of projects.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience

  • Master’s degree in Engineering and 1 year of relevant experience
