Summary of Duties:

The Ohio Policy Evaluation Network (OPEN) seeks a Research Scientist for its leadership team. OPEN is comprised of faculty, staff and students from Ohio State University, University of Cincinnati, Case Western Reserve University, and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, and conducts rigorous, impactful, and forward thinking social-science research on the reproductive health of Ohioans. Our multiple interdisciplinary research projects assess reproductive health outcomes, equity, access, cost, and autonomy in the context of federal and state laws and policies.

OPEN’s research scientist will be responsible for planning and executing high-level research activities on behalf of the OPEN project. They will actively foster collaboration within a multi-institutional interdisciplinary team of researchers and stakeholders and provide high-level guidance on the future funding and direction of OPEN’s research. They will lead and conduct the analysis of data, the preparation of manuscripts, and presentation of research products on behalf of the OPEN project. We seek an exceptional researcher with a strong background and interest in reproductive health research, including infant and maternal mortality, policy, family planning, and abortion access. The selected individual will have knowledge and skills in acquiring, cleaning, analyzing and interpreting complex data from a range of modalities, including chart reviews, large administrative datasets, qualitative data, and survey data.

Required Qualifications:

Doctorate; two years of related experience to the following: experience supervising others; experience managing multiple sites or projects at once; excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to multi-task and function independently; good decision making and leadership qualities; strong networking and outreach skills; effective community relation skills; strong desire to advance public health knowledge in Ohio; basic knowledge of reproductive health landscape in Ohio or similar states; experience with grant-funded projects.

Target Salary: $53,000.00 - $65,000.00 Annually
