Huntington National Bank Home Lending Quantitative Analyst in Columbus, Ohio

Brief Description:

Provides advanced support for moderate to complex financial system maintenance including application programming, testing and data validation. Participates in initiatives associated with development and execution of analytics, ongoing model development, and model tuning. Responsible for accuracy of secondary marketing risk models, ensures assumptions are accurate, reasonable and appropriately documented. Recommends model adjustments/changes as needed, ensuring modeling thresholds are met and analysis is consistent with industry best practice standards. Maintain an in-depth knowledge of business processes and applications as well as stay current in statistical techniques, methodologies, best practices, and trends related to model management, governance, development, tuning, and ongoing monitoring.

Additional Responsibilities :

Create, design and implement complex reporting intended to monitor the home lending secondary marketing pipeline

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance or related field

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in financial analysis

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience to include data analysis using SQL Server, Oracle, MS Access and Visual Basic

  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to present findings on complex issues clearly, both written and orally

  • Detailed oriented with proven ability to process large datasets into meaningful information

  • Strong programming, modeling, statistical analysis skills required

  • Strong database skills, including working with advanced data sets, pivot tables, advanced database and statistical functions and methods

  • Ability to manage multiple high level and complex project simultaneously

  • Strong ability to identifying potential concerns, analyze and solve problems; ability to work effectively and independently to resolve such issues

  • In depth, hands-on experience measuring risk and forecasting using the QRM mortgage banking suite of models

  • Comfortable working with complex financial products

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

  • Ability to work within a team environment, as well as independently

  • Good time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills
