Job Description:

Develops, maintains, and implements information security standards, procedures, and guidelines for applications and databases. Ensures that systems and organizational databases are protected from unauthorized access and use. Monitors systems, identifies threats, and handles disaster recovery operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs assessments of systems and networks within the networking environment or enclave and identifies where those systems/networks deviate from acceptable configurations, enclave policy, or local policy. This is achieved through passive evaluations (compliance audits) and active evaluations (vulnerability assessments).

  • Establishes strict program control processes to ensure mitigation of risks and supports for obtaining certification and accreditation of systems. This includes process support, analysis support, coordination support, security certification test support, security documentation support, investigations, software research, hardware introduction and release, emerging technology research inspections, and periodic audits.

  • Assists in the implementation of required government policy (e.g.,, NISPOM, ICD), and makes recommendations on process tailoring.

  • Performs analyses to validate established security requirements and recommends additional security requirements and safeguards where required.

  • Supports the formal Security Test & Evaluation (ST&E) required by each government accrediting authority through pre-test preparations, participation in the tests, analysis of the results, and preparation of required reports.

  • Periodically conducts a review of each system's audits and monitors corrective actions until all actions are closed.

  • Seasoned professional in the job family.

  • This is the level of full competence that all professionals are expected to achieve in the function. It is sometimes called the journey-level.

  • Manages program and project implementation and makes significant contributions to department goals and planning efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and typically 5+ years of related professional experience. (NOTE: Newly-hired PhD graduates are typically hired into this level.) Non-degreed incumbents must meet equivalency guidelines established for designated job family.

  • Systems Administration experience (Windows and/or Linux)

  • Security Plus Certification

  • Must have at least an active Top Secret Clearance

Desired Skills:

  • Understanding of Risk Management Framework

  • Understanding of COMSEC Program

  • Knowledge of Controlled Cryptographic Items (CCI) in accordance with Air Force Manual 17-1302-O

The anticipated annualized full time target compensation (median) for this position is: $80,000.00.Benefits for this position include: medical, dental, vision, paid time off, Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) and 401K.Must be able to obtain, maintain and/or currently possess a security clearance.
