Position Overview:
The Quality Control Manager position is responsible for managing quality control (QC) operations and assisting with field operations and processes in their region. This position is full time, requires regular travel and overtime with occasional weekends through peak season. This position reports to the Regional Manager and has supervisory responsibility.

General Duties and Functions:

Essential Duties and Functions:
Will be responsible for supervising Quality Control Technicians in the Region
Manage the Quality Control (QC) Department’s for their region’s operations and personnel, including Certified Operations personnel
Coordinate with the Quality Control Technicians on the quality of daily operations
Assist in integrating the Quality Management System (QMS) for their region
Coordinate with the Quality Control Director on Quality Control related items, such as issues, trends and/or projects
Assist in the bidding process for their region, which includes reading specifications, plans, addendums, etc.
Design and implement mix designs and product codes for their region
Produce mix submittals for projects in their region
Complete site visits to production facilities to monitor quality of the products
Assist on training of quality control policies and procedures
Troubleshoot, identify, correct and prevent quality control issues
Oversee testing and record keeping on aggregates and concrete for their region
Oversee calibrations of all production facilities for their region
Assist in field operations
Develop, maintain and staff high profile projects list
Maintain an daily diary of Quality Control operations
Maintain and enforce safe practices in their region
Understand and comply with Federal (FAA, Army Corps of Engineers, Railroad, etc.) regulations and specifications
Assist plants during production of new products, new mix designs and high profile projects
Assist on training Quality Control and Production personnel on mix designs and additives
Train production personnel on the basic concrete testing procedures such as air, slump, temperature, etc.
Cross-train with applicable positions
Position Requirements:
Consent to authorization of a pre-employment work screen

MUST HAVE CONCRETE and AGGREGATE EXPERIENCE
Associate’s Degree in civil and construction engineering or related field
State DOT Certifications
At least 2 years of management experience
Business management experience in Quality Management System implementation and the concrete aggregate industry
ACI certifications
OSHA Training
Microsoft Office Skills
High level of reasoning abilities (i.e. Meeting deadlines, Prioritize Company and customer needs, serve as a leader to both peers and direct reports)
Strong mathematical skills (i.e. Add, Subtract, Multiply, Divide)
Possess excellent communication skills in both written and verbal forms
