Mental Health Practitioners to join our FLOAT Team

The Job: We are seeking Mental Health Practitioners to join our FLOAT Team. You’ll be assigned to support a group of 24/7 programs. Post on-boarding/training - the expectation will be that you pick up shifts across your sites on a regular/on-going basis.

PAY RATE: $25/hr for both full-time (32 hours per week) and part-time (minimum 1 shift per pay period)

FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE: You decide which shifts you pick up. FT position is a minimum of 32 hours (4 shifts) per week. PT positions work as little as 1 shift per pay period or as many as you can pick-up!

AVAILABLE SHIFTS: Varied days, evenings, overnights, & weekends

Setting: Will be supporting our Crisis/IRTS programs across the Twin Cities

Client demographics: In order for a client to qualify for entry, they must complete an intake to ensure they meet the criteria to be eligible. The overlapping criteria regardless of site - client has a severe and persistent mental illness diagnosis, they are able to take care of their own personal and hygienic cares and have elected to join our voluntary community-based programming.

You’ll gain experience working with clients with complex diagnoses and co-occurring disorders. You'll collaborate with residents to develop stabilization goals and support progress toward individualized visions of wellness.

Main Job Duties:

  • Maintaining the therapeutic milieu of the house by conducting rounds and interacting with the clients in the residence.

  • Assisting with meal preparations

  • Conducting short therapeutic interventions and facilitating groups

  • Documenting observable behaviors and symptoms

  • Working with the team to meet the needs of the clients

  • Supporting clients in the milieu

  • Admitting new clients and assessing status to determine needs

    The Hiring Process:

  • You apply, virtually interview, and are hired into the FLOAT POOL and assigned to a group of sites

  • You on-board, complete orientation, attend Medication Administration class then report to the site of your designated manager to receive hands on training to get you acclimated to the team and settings

  • Training period is PAID

  • Once trained up, you are added to the open shift board/SLING to begin picking up shifts within your group of site

    Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in behavioral science or related field and proof of a practicum or internship that requires direct interaction with adults or children served and is focused on behavioral sciences or related fields;

  • OR has completed 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours in behavioral science or a related field and:

  • Has proof of a practicum or internship that requires direct interaction with adults or children served and is focused on behavioral sciences or related fields; OR

  • Has 2,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of services to people with mental illness; OR

  • Has 2,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of services to people with traumatic brain injury or developmental disabilities and completes training on mental illness, mental health de-escalation techniques, co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse, and psychotropic medications and side effects; OR

  • Is fluent in the non-English language of the cultural group to which 50% of the practitioner’s clients belong; OR

  • Has a high school diploma and 4,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of services to people with mental illness, traumatic brain injury, or developmental disabilities and completes training on mental illness, mental health de-escalation techniques, co-occurring mental illness, substance abuse, and psychotropic medications and side effects; OR

  • Is currently enrolled in a graduate-level behavioral sciences program at an accredited college or university and is formally assigned to the program for clinical training.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in behavioral science/related field with 4,000 hours of experience.
