Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The video team at UNC Charlotte is an Emmy winning production unit utilizing top of the line 4k cinema workflow and the latest in media workflow technology. Primary responsibilities for this position include:
Working with the Chief Engineer to design and innovate technology from capture to delivery.
Charts and implements media workflows for a variety of small and large-scale productions.
Defines and leads procedures and workflows for the Media Asset Management ( MAM ) systems.
Ensures video asset lifecycle, from acquisition through ingest and archive, post-production, distribution, and retention. Including managing transcoding and metadata for both local and cloud based file storage.
Oversees and manages planning and configuration of signal transmission for several key campus events via Dejero, LTN , and fiber feeds.
Manages streaming encoders and accounts for live events via Vimeo and Facebook Live.
Manages various encoders including Telestream Wirecast and Newtek TC1 switcher.
Responsible for exporting video content for key external media outlets.
Requires ability to ensure daily channel playout, webcasts operations and planning for future programming.
Clear communication with the communications team is necessary for success.
Overseeing student interns with the help of the Chief Engineer.
Minimum Experience / Education:
Required Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of experience related to the area of assignment in a broadcast television, radio and emerging media environment; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
University Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in radio, television, and motion picture and one year of experience in communications, public information, marketing or television production work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
One year full-time experience in video production, TV station, IT, asset management or related field.
Past experience in Media Asset Management, broadcast automation software, transcoding, familiarity with general and the variability of the Internet. (Root 6, Telestream Vantage, Shotput Pro and Transcoder ).
Experience with Telestream Wirecast Streaming, Newtek TC1 Switching and Streaming.
Experience with live streaming.
Experience with media asset management systems.
Knowledge of video technology, signal types, recording CODECs, file formats, data ingest, and metadata management.

AWS glacier cloud storage Adobe Suite a plus.
