Position Summary

The OPHL National Director, Mortgage Operations is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all Operations activities for Offerpad Mortgage. This leader role will hire and supervise a team of Operations personnel including Processors, Underwriters, Closer/Funders, Shippers and Quality Control employees. This National Director will manage the secondary marketing activities of Offerpad Mortgage including quality control and regulatory compliance. This leader role will have oversight responsibilities for quality control audits and compliance reports required by regulatory agencies, secondary investors and OPAD senior leadership.

Essential Functions

  • Manage and direct operations nationally for Offerpad Mortgage, ensuring that all company quality and turn time standards are met.

  • Manage and ensure all processes, procedures, and employees of OPHL comply with all state and federal mortgage lending regulations, as well as with all company policies and procedures.

  • Ensure that mortgage employees meet or exceed company customer service standards.

  • Ensure that mortgage operations personnel meet all training requirements.

  • Maintain or exceed annual expectations for timeliness and quality.

  • Effectively evaluate the efficiency of mortgage operation activities and develop specific recommendations for improvements to personnel, facilities, products, pricing, policies, and processes.

  • Promote a positive culture for OPHL and lead by example.

  • Analyze reports and manage employee workloads to ensure that turn times are met, balancing the needs of the sales force with the overall turn time needs of RPM and making sound decisions to adjust loan allocation to team members as necessary.

  • Collaborate with OPHL leadership to strategize and plan loan processing training needs.

  • Ensure consistent delivery of top-quality service to staff through training, communication and work flow or job assignment changes as needed.

  • Ensure compliance of laws such as: RESPA, ECOA, HMDA, FNMA, FHLMC, etc.

  • Provide directives to loan processing team on file prioritization.

  • Hire, coach, develop and manage performance of all team members. Ensure Offerpad values are adhered to and consistently demonstrated.

Required Experience:

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field

  • 5+ years similar or related experience in the Home Loan Industry; preferably Branch Management experience

  • Familiarity with a broad menu of lending products including Conventional, FHA, VA and Non-QM products

  • Multi-State Origination Experience Preferred

  • Familiarity with Encompass LOS

  • Excellent communication (oral and written) skills

  • Ability to take initiative and work independently to establish and manage work priorities, activities and timelines to achieve results

  • Exhibits sound judgment and swift decision-making skills

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.

  • Strong organization skills, accurate, and detail-oriented

  • Strong work ethic, ability to learn quickly and adapt to change

  • Demonstrates trustworthiness and an unblemished record of ethical behavior and sound decision making.

  • Ability to critically review, summarize, and report findings and recommendations

  • PC skills including working knowledge of the Microsoft environment and the ability to access, manipulate, organize and relay information in a meaningful way.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous real estate experience a plus
