Job Summary

To provide patient care under the direction of an Imaging Technologist or Radiologist in the Imaging department

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for escorting patients to and from exam rooms and ensuring that they are properly dressed/prepped for the exam to be performed

  • Performs clinical history interviews with patient and screens for any contraindications for exam to be performed and/or any allergies to contrast agents or medication to be administered

  • Prepares exam table as appropriate for the exam to be performed including coil selection, gathering additional supplies needed (contrast agents, meds, etc.) and assists technologist with patient positioning

  • Responsible for obtaining prior reports, fill, H&P, prescriptions, labs, and other clinical data, as needed and collating necessary paperwork/film prior to case being presented for radiologist review

  • Shall assist the file room personnel in the following areas, as needed: obtaining prior studies for comparison, retrieving archived PAC’s studies, printing studies for courier delivery, preparing and filing jackets, printing reports, film tracking, duplicating film (x-ray processor) and developing film for technologist

  • Collates prior films, reports and other pertinent clinical data for technologist/radiologist in preparation for invasive procedures (i.e., biopsy, etc.)

  • Assists in monitoring department supply levels

  • Shall provide additional clerical/ancillary support for technologist and radiologist as needed

  • Transports IP and OP to and from the department

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required

  • Job experience in a health care related field

  • BLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire required
