Shell Fleet Solutions serves as an integrated fleet solutions partner to our customers – not just a vendor. While we started with fuel cards, we offer an array of E-Mobility, Mobility Services and other solutions focused in helping our fleet customers – of all sizes and industries and at various stages on their decarbonization journey.

We're looking for accomplished sales professionals who are keen to exceed customer expectations and surpass revenue targets. The Key Account Manager role is part of the Canadian sales team and will be responsible for acquiring, managing, and growing a portfolio of fleet customers in the western Canadian provinces. Targeted fleet customers are from a variety of industries sectors (i.e., couriers, construction, dealerships, last miles delivery and services) with fleet sizes ranging between 50-500 vehicles primarily in the passenger cars & light-medium truck space.

Note - Although this is a virtual role, you will need to be located in Calgary, Edmonton, or Vancouver.

Accountabilities:

  • Plan, monitor, and achieve fuel volume growth targets, and the associated margin targets through acquiring new business and growing existing customer share of wallet

  • Generate new customer leads and prospects via external networking and a variety of sales tools and strategies

  • Develop and maintain long term commercial relationships with key accounts, and external stakeholders

  • Demonstrate exceptional discovery and presentation skills through superior product and services knowledge including experience and confidence with virtual sales

  • Maximize profitability of existing Key Accounts through effective use of our customer value propositions, cross business synergies, tactical promotions, and a range of selling techniques

  • Drive non-fuel revenue streams; and lead the Shell energy transition and decarbonization agenda for your region.

  • Keep up to date on relevant competitive offerings, negotiate and confidently overcome objections

  • Work collaboratively with other sales team members and third-party partners to meet common objectives and ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction

Skills & Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in similar role; in a Sales environment

  • Bachelors’ Degree in a business-related field is preferred

  • Knowledge and experience in retail, payment, mobility/automotive services, or fleet management

  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal and ability to manage relationships at all levels

  • Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer

  • Must possess a valid driver's license
