Philips DA Key Account Manager Food Benelux in Brussel (Bruxelles), Belgium


In this role, you have the opportunity to

The Key Account Manager Food is one of the most challenging but rewarding roles within DA: dealing with professionals and leading retailers within the fast moving Retail industry.

You are responsible for:

  • Develop and drive a credible and productive long-term relation with customers to maximize the value for Philips and for the customer (top- and bottom-line)

  • Develop a deep understanding of the customers strategies, market trends, and competitive landscape needed to develop a winning strategy, accountplan and activation plan at your customers

  • Coordinate that there is one approach and efficient ways of working with the customer, by working with Sales, Marketing, Service, Supply Chain team members

  • Able to create, manage and drive account plans in which budgeted targets are translated into specific strategy and actions

  • Drives customer negotiations and takes care for a signed annual contract each year and in time, and follows and defends central Commercial Policy guidelines

  • Responsible for trade promotions via well-structured and shareable activation calender, for ranging and distribution (follows central guidance / channelization)

  • Customer responsibility: Carrefour, Auchan, Cora, Match, Delhaize, Cactus, Aldi, Lidl, possibly expanded with new customers.

  • Being able to make choices and steer your own success

  • Understands the channel and is able to bring in revolutionary new ideas and initiatives to bring partnerships to next level

  • Is able to persuade and change the internal organization to (re-)set and organize itself to this channel

  • Steps outside the box and is able to make big steps

  • Able to systematically analyze and report sales results, expectations, market, competition and trends to make proposals for improvement

  • Be a self-starter, self-motivated and a natural sales person with the ability to drive new business, chase new opportunities in the market

  • Enjoying working in a result-driven environment in which you can operate with your team as your own entrepreneur within a multi-national

  • Manage the P&L and accounts forecast, ensuring both targets and expectation are met by driving profitable sustainable growth regarding your allocated portfolio

  • Be the industry expert by monitoring competitors, customers and technology changes and being able to predict and react to changes accordingly

You are part of:

The Domestic Appliances Market Benelux team and you will report to the Channel Manager Online + Food & New Channel. You will work closely together with the Key Account Manager Food Netherlands.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

  • Both French as Dutch speaking is a big plus

  • Experience in a Fast Moving business

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably Master’s

  • A successful track record of building robust (key) customer relationships and delivering on their needs

  • Excellent internal and external stakeholder management

  • Strategic, long-term thinking and planning but also operationally driving the daily business

  • Capable of translating customer strategies, building relationships and opening doors

  • Strategic sales experience as an (Key) Account Manager in comparable businesses and preferably in fast moving businesses

  • Being able to see new opportunities and open doors in channels where Philips is the underdog

  • Being able to develop a strategic view on the channel – thereby using data and not afraid to make choices

  • Creative thinker but with a constant focus on driving the daily business

  • Adds speed to the relationship with customers: makes the customer feel special

  • Speaking and writing English at a high business level

  • Puts the customer central / customer-centric

  • As part of the Sales you uphold the Sales team principles: (1) passion to win/achieve Sales targets by setting up the best-in-class account plans, (2) every day better by improving min. 1 competency and by coming up with solutions, (3) inspire, share and motivate your Sales team colleagues

  • Able to work with big data, feeling comfortable with excel and can extract insights via excel independently

  • Experience with AC Nielsen is preferred
