Position Details

General Statement

The Montana AHEC mission is to improve the supply and distribution of healthcare professionals, with an emphasis on primary care, through community/academic educational partnerships, in order to increase the access to quality healthcare.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director with projects of the MORH/AHEC

  • Research grant opportunities and assist with writing grants

  • Conduct primary and secondary research under the direction of the Director

  • Develop content for websites related to MORH/AHEC

  • Provide support to committees of MORH/AHEC

  • Represent MORH and AHEC at meetings

  • Research and write reports on rural health issues

  • Write reports and make presentations on research projects and other projects of MORH/AHEC

Additional Duties and Responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and maintain social media presence for MORH/AHEC

  • Travel in-state to represent MORH/AHEC (up to 25% of the time)

  • Travel to national meetings to represent MORH/AHEC (1-2 times per year)

Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

  • Bachelor degree in Health, Public Administration, Social/Behavior Science or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

  • Progressively experience in healthcare, higher education and community organization.

  • Demonstrated experience researching health/policy topics and preparing reports.

Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

  • Demonstrated experience organizing committees and board meetings.

  • Demonstrated experience with website content development and social media (CMS, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram).

  • Demonstrated experience with virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, Webex).

  • Demonstrated experience with skill in writing, written & oral reports.
