Job Description
As a Product Quality and Reliability Assurance (PQRA) DDR5 Qual Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will support qualification and monitoring of DDR5 memory products, help develop product reliability methodologies, and respond to product deviations as they pertain to quality and reliability. You will establish and enforce Quality and Reliability requirements such as specifications, Defects per Million (DPM), Failure In Time (FIT), and Lifetimes. In this role, you will coordinate with Engineering teams to ensure product reliability methods are in place and followed, and perform risk assessments and provide support for manufacturing teams dealing with reliability issues. You will be required to gain new product knowledge in an on-going basis as well as develop and mentor new talent.
Responsibilities and Tasks
Conduct New Product Qualification
Define qualification requirements (specifications)
Comprehend failures and failure rate within the scope of the qualification
Perform risk assessment at all decision points within qualification cycle
Review qualification data and sign off that Qual requirements have been met
Issue internal product release notifications for Qual
Develop Product Reliability Methodology, Monitors, Metrics, and Specifications
Coordinate with research and development teams
Comprehend new DRAM processes/technologies for product reliability issues
Develop product reliability tests to assess new DRAM failure mechanisms
Coordinate/drive necessary specification definition on existing products
Establish and Enforce Quality Requirements
Establish and review Reliability Metrics
Establish and review Quality Metrics
Assess deviation for DRAM product quality and reliability risk
Define evaluation(s) necessary to mitigate risk
Review Excursion Analysis
Review Conversion Analysis
Communicate violations to defined release/acceptance criteria
Analyze risk to any violations
Communicate issues and corrective actions across all Micron products
Provide Internal Technical Support for Customer Support Teams
Assist DRAM RMA Team with analysis of returned material
Provide input on manufacturing history and known issues relative to customer failure signature
Perform additional data collection per customer request
Develop Reliability Process Monitor (RPM) plans
Assist with necessary corrective actions at manufacturing level
Comprehend field failure rates relative to internal failure rates
Provide Expertise and Consultation
Support Global Qual Meetings
On-board new team members
Train, mentor, and develop new talent
Provide part qualification data for internal and external customers
Interface with Engineering groups on quality issues
Obtain product knowledge
Education
Required
Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
Engineering - Electrical
Related field of study
Experience
Desired but not imited to
5 year experience in any of the following:
Product Engineering
Product Yield Enhancment
Process Integration
Global Quality
Qualifications
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applicaitons
Proficiency statistical modeling tools like JMP
Familiarity with Python, Perl, HTML, or Java
Familiarity with Scrum methodolgoies and supporting software like JIRA
Familiarity with DRAM, VLSI (Very Large Scale Integration), Semiconductor Physics, or Semiconductor Manufacturing. (Preferred)
