Aerotek EHS Specialist in Blue Ash, Ohio
This role will support the company in establishing and maintaining EHS policies, programs and procedures that ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations and corporate standards. Some of these programs include the site Injury Illness & Prevention, Hazardous Communication, Emergency Action, and Personal Protective Equipment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
Serve as a technical resource in complex areas of EHS compliance, risk management, hazardous materials/waste, industrial hygiene, and industrial safety.
Perform periodic audits to identify potential environmental and workplace hazards, program deficiencies, and liabilities.
Develop Safety Operating Standards (SOSs) and deliver training programs.
Conduct EHS reviews for new product development, facility modification, product manufacturing modifications and new equipment/machinery installations.
Assist in safety committee and awareness programs.
Be a safety advocate. Proactively look for opportunities to improve safety programs and educate and inspire employees to do the same.
Drive and implement changes as needed.
Investigate accidents and/or incidents of a safety and ascertain cause and need for corrective action.
Develop and implement measures and strategies to prevent their recurrence
Interface with regulatory agencies and third parties as needed based on project or program responsibilities.
Maintain routine safety and environmental reports and records and file the applicable permits
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, or related discipline required.
Minimum 3 years of EHS experience in a GMP facility required
