Greater Baltimore Medical Center Respiratory Care Practitioner in Baltimore, Maryland

Under general supervision, performs respiratory care related procedures. Assesses patient condition, administers prescribed therapy and aerosolized medications, provides airway and ventilator management, performs respiratory related diagnostic tests, and records patient response to therapy modalities

Education

Completion of an approved and accredited respiratory program

Experience

1 year of clinical practice experience under medical direction

Skills

§ Knowledge of respiratory therapy theory, practice and techniques

§ Skill in using computers and a variety of personal productivity applications

§ Skill in oral and written communication

§ Skill in providing customer service

§ Knowledge of laboratory and regulatory requirements relating to patient care.

Licensures, Certifications

§ Current Maryland license as a respiratory care practitioner.

§ Healthcare Provider (CPR Certification).

§ Neonatal Resuscitation for NICU respiratory care practitioners.

Physical Requirements

§ Able to withstand prolonged periods of mental stress and strain

Pulling 150 lbs

Lifting 150 lbs

Carrying 50-75 lbs

Pushing 250 lbs

Standing, walking, sitting, stooping

Working Conditions

· Some exposure to noise and/or vibrations; Hazards (mechanical, radiant energy); Explosives , biohazardous materials, burns, electrical, other; Fumes, poor ventilation, mists, dust, odors, gas; moving machinery;

Conditions of Employment

· Maintain current CPR certification, NRP for NICU, and valid MD Respiratory Care Practitioner License. N-95 Fit Testing.
