Raytheon Technologies Principal Software Database Engineer (Onsite) in Aurora, Colorado

Raytheon Intelligence & Space in Aurora, Colorado is seeking a talented Database Engineer to join our team which provides ground system development, integration, operations and sustainment. The program is looking for a talented Database Engineer to support mission software development and operations and sustainment. The Principal Database Engineer will serve as a member of the M2C2 Database Team. Candidates for this opportunity should have a solid foundation and extensive experience working with databases on several platforms.

The selected candidate must be able to develop and implement data architectures, data modeling, database administration as well as have the ability to integrate and support interfacing with COTS products. The position may also require the ability to provide on-call, after-hours/weekend support, when necessary, as defined by program needs. A demonstrable understanding of software database principles, theories, and concepts related to implementation and execution should also be within the experience scope of the candidate.

This position is eligible for a sign on bonus of up to $15K for a person with a TS/SCI clearance that can be verified and hired here at Raytheon Intelligence & Space

Required Skills:

  • An active and in-scope TS/SCI US security clearance

  • A current Security + Certification

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience as an Oracle database administrator and/or Oracle database engineer

  • Experience with Oracle products, Real Application Clusters (RAC), Data Guard, GoldenGate, Label Security

  • Experience with DDL scripts to create, maintain, and upgrade database schemas

  • Experience with SQL and PL/SQL to perform complex queries, data manipulations and data migrations

  • Experience upgrading existing Oracle databases to supported versions

  • Experience writing and maintaining UNIX shell scripts; additional experience with Perl, Python, Ansible is a plus

  • Experience with database optimization, performance tuning, backup and restoration (rman), tablespace allocation and management

  • Experience managing the health and status of the database, managing schemas, and resolving database related issues in a timely manner

  • Practiced in integration of COTS products in implementing successful customer-driven solutions.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • 8 years of relevant experience with a Bachelors degree (STEM - Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics, typically); OR

  • 6 years of relevant experience with a Masters degree (STEM - Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics, typically)

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Amazon Web Services technologies

  • Experience with PostgreSQL and MySql databases

  • Prior experience on a large program, supporting multiple Oracle database instances

  • Software Development experience in Java, C++, C

“In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $87,500 to $188,500; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.”
