Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Augusta, Georgia

Description Robert Half has an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk opportunity that offers a stimulating work environment with a team of highly skilled professionals. While working closely and reporting to the Accounting Manager, the candidate in this role will be expected to manage the general administrative needs of the AP/Finance Department. Matching and batching code, resolving A/P issues, processing expense reports, updating and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L and processing checks are integral functions for this position. This Accounts Payable Clerk opportunity will be located in the Augusta, Georgia area and will be a short-term contract / temporary to hire position.

What you get to do every day

  • Produce full-cycle A/P

  • Provide internal and external audit assistance as required

  • Manage department mail by opening, sorting, and distributing it on a daily basis

  • Perform special projects as assigned

  • Verify, log and mail checks, including expediting special handling

  • Provide support to internal business partners

  • Ensure compliance with company policies while carrying out daily processes and controls accurately and on time

  • Sort, register, scan, and store invoices, checks, and other documents

  • Support the AP/Finance Department by completing administrative tasks Requirements - Prior experience in an A/P role preferred

  • AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred

  • Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, especially with both technical and financial backgrounds

  • Well-founded grasp of Posting Payments

  • 10 Key Accounting experience highly desired

  • Accounts Payable (AP) experience desired

  • General familiarity with journal entries

  • Data entry experience preferred

  • Proficiency in Enter Vendor Invoices

  • Microsoft Excel experience preferred

  • Proven knowledge of account reconciliation

  • Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
