AT&T Senior-System Engineer in Atlanta, Georgia
Job Summary: Hands-on function that ultimately results in the delivery of an application / service. Responsible for translating the core architecture for business requirements into the final technical solution (consisting of platform, network, software, cloud, etc.) through functional, performance, capacity indicators / triggers and reliability analysis using engineering models and techniques, primarily through software development throughout the vertical stack. Defines design parameters through network capacity, latency and development plans; Provides technical enablement for application components and subsystems for an Application(s). Drives important design decisions for development team. Support, Database, Systems Architecture and Engineering, Systems Technical Support, Technical Project Management, and Technology Security associated with the 5G and FirstNet and their network elements.
Roles and Responsibilities: Elaborate the design and interfaces for specific components including: Define subsystems and their interfaces, allocate responsibilities to subsystems associated with 5G and FirstNet, capacity requirements from market forecasts, understand solution and deployment, and communicate requirements for interactions with solution ; Align development teams to a shared technical direction and partners with those teams in elaborating requirements for 5G and FirstNet and its cloud-based interfaces; Validate technology assumptions, evaluate implementation alternatives to meet market forecast and capacity requirements; Establish critical Network Feature Requests for 5G and FirstNet to insure partner organizations understand platform needs, participate in the definition of others. Create and enable the Continuous Delivery Pipeline including: Participate in planning, definition, and high-level design of cloud-based 5G and FirstNet and explore alternatives; Assist in the development and deployment needs of the Architecture in support of new business Features and Capabilities; Work with portfolio stakeholders, Solution and Enterprise Architects, to develop, analyze, split, and realize the implementation of enablers; Participate in project planning, system and solution demos, retrospective workshops; Understand technical characteristics of and assist with architectural integration of external components, systems, and platforms.
Education: Preferred Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Science, Electrical Engineering, or Math; Developer nanodegree; or equivalent experience.
Experience: Typically requires 5-8 years experience.
Technical Career Pathway (TCP) role.
Knowledge of EPC LTE, 5G, (BlackBird, NorthRim a plus)

5-8 years related technical architect experience.
Proficient in Network Management, Tools and Protocols (Configuration, IP Network Address Management, Performance Management).
Knowledge of data center infrastructure (including blade center design, data warehouse design, Ebusiness/web hosting design, etc.)
Proficient in data communications protocols (TCP/IP, v4/v6, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, GMPLS, etc.)
Proficient in home and premise networking architectures, assessment and modeling.
Proficient in specifying and evaluating architecture requirements for RFXs.
Understands Virtualization, Storage and Content Deliver Networks (Cloud, CDM, Grid, SAN).
Knowledge in voice, video, and app technologies (circuit, VoIP, SIP, IMS, AIN, Camel, etc.).
Understands wireless technologies standards and protocols (3GPP, Wi-Fi, WiMAX, antennas, amplifiers, base stations, propagation, interference, spectrum).
AS degree in Engineering, Information Systems or related technical field
Experience in building multiple versions of large customer facing systems addressing performance and scale.
Develops technical documentation on applications and systems
Ability to work with technical and business-oriented teams
