Position Overview

Reporting to the Revenue Accounting Manager the Revenue Accounting Supervisor will supervise the Revenue Accounting team team and oversee the day-to-day revenue accounting for Aveanna, the monthly/quarterly/annual close processes and provide learning, development and on the job training to these employees. This will include the responsibility for analyzing and reviewing calculations, journal entries, reconciliations and variance analyses produced by the team. It will also include the responsibility to provide timely and accurate reconciliations to management and external customers, such as auditors. This individual will also drive process improvements and identify areas to establish best practices across the department.


Essential Job Functions

Supervise staff members of the revenue accounting team on day to day accounting and month-end close processes, with a significant emphasis placed on financial integrity of high volume revenue transactions across multiple revenue systems

Detail review reserve waterfall calculations and other staff work

Prepare complex workpapers such as acquisition reserve waterfalls and Accounts Receivable clearing reconciliations

Prepare quantitative and qualitative analytical reviews

Review detailed journal entries and account reconciliations

Work with internal customers (such as operations team members) and external customers to resolve discrepancies

Manage responsibilities in order to meet deadlines

Perform variance analyses and account reconciliations in a format acceptable to and consumable by external auditors

Review the work of staff and senior accountant(s), and provide direction, leadership and professional development

Coordinate more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of finance or with other departments inside and outside the Controller’s organization

Ensure accurate and timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process

Coordinate with the Revenue Accounting Manager in preparation of deliverables for internal review, quarterly audit reviews, and year-end audits

Seek opportunities to standardize processes and establish internal control framework over the revenue accounting process

Proactively seek out and offer up ideas for system efficiencies and business practices improvements

Take personal responsibility for compliance with internal controls under his/her responsibility as documented in connection with SOX procedures


Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

3 to 4 years of accounting experience

1 to 2 years of experience supervising staff or seniors accountants

Experience in a fast paced, high volume environment

Strong knowledge of GAAP

Good attention to detail and accuracy of work performed

Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office Excel skills (VLOOKUP’s, pivot tables, etc.)

Strong organizational, analytical, critical thinking and customer service skills

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Comfortable communicating directly to external audit team

Experience with the integration of accounting functions due to merger and acquisitions



Experience reconciling in Blackline strongly preferred

Exposure to Workday Financial ERP system highly preferred
