AT&T Professional-Software Engineer in Atlanta, Georgia
Overall Purpose: This career step requires intermediate level experience. Responsible for the overall delivery process of a software application or service, including design, development, testing, deployment, production application support (e.g., troubleshooting) and maintenance with a focus on automation.
Key Roles and Responsibilities: Collaborate to gather and review software requirements/user stories, provide estimates, create software design specifications and collaborate with engineers/architects to assess and test hardware and software interactions. Execute a specific development methodology through application of various programming languages. Create and execute automated test plans/strategies utilizing business requirements and collaborate with engineers/architects, clients, etc. to validate test environments, test data and test results, design and implement code fixes, validate outcomes against expected results and produce associated reporting. In addition to Unit Test, responsibilities may include dynamic application security testing, interface testing, integration testing, end-to-end testing and/or user acceptance testing. Supports applications and solves configuration and environment issues. Supports the software deployment process. Job Contribution: Intermediate level technical professional. Subject matter technical knowledge within a discipline and sound understanding of ATT technologies.
ServiceNow experience a plus. The candidate will be responsible for designing, configuring, developing, troubleshooting and implementing baseline and custom applications to enhance AT&T's ServiceNow platform in support of AT&T Network Operations. The primary focus will be ServiceNow's ITSM portfolio -- specifically Change and Configuration Management. This position will partner with Operations to standardize, streamline, and automate processes to increase productivity and eliminate manual touchpoints. Responsibilities include:
Design, prototype, implement, test, and deploy business rules, technical solutions, such as client scripts, UI pages/actions/policies, scheduled job, import sets and transform maps, ACLs and notifications.
Develop custom integration components and integrate legacy systems with ServiceNow using mid-server, web services, chatops, email and other relevant technologies.
Develop existing and custom applications within ServiceNow including integrations with other applications.
Hands-on experience in Change Management/Configuration Management and Service Catalog modules.
Create and use update sets to move customizations between ServiceNow instances.
Document, maintain and update policies, procedures and controls for the operation of the ServiceNow platform.
Contribute as part of a fast-paced workgroup and must have the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively across different Operations teams.
Education: Preferred Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Science, Electrical Engineering, or Math; Developer nanodegree; or equivalent experience.
Experience: Typically requires 3-5 years experience. Technical Career Pathway (TCP) role.
Principal Functional Skills / Competencies associated with this Title:
Familiarity with UI, SQL, HTML and CSS.
Knowledge of XML and structural programming concepts.
Experience using the ServiceNow platform.
Knowledge of ITIL processes.
Advanced problem-solving ability.
Experience with technical ServiceNow components such as: business rules, client scripts, UI policies and actions, UI pages and macros, script includes, catalog items, workflows, web services, reports, etc.
