OPPORTUNITIES ARE SHIPBOARD ON AN OCEAN-GOING MARINE VESSEL, WORKING EXTENDED HOURS FOR MULTIPLE WEEK ROTATIONS, FOLLOWED BY MULTIPLE WEEK HOME LEAVES
Raytheon Intelligence and Space Field Engineering (RIS FE) is currently seeking a Sr. Field Engineer to maintain and operate the RF systems that comprise the X-Band Radar (XBR) that is installed on the Sea Based X-Band (SBX-1) ocean-going platform. As a Sr. Field Engineer, you will conduct troubleshooting, technical analysis and corrective actions of all radio frequency (RF) elements, to include receiver-exciters, transmit/receive modules, and beam forming networks for the XBR hardware. You will also support and execute radar modifications, and enhancements to the system in accordance with customer and technical specifications. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in troubleshooting radar hardware and RF signal path failures to determine corrective actions to restore radar systems to an operational state in accordance with product and customer specifications. This position will require working extended hours on multiple week rotations on an ocean-going marine vessel.
You should have at least 4 years’ experience in test, integration, maintenance, alignment, adjustment, calibration and operation of RF equipment associated with radar systems, to include transmitters, receivers, modulators, mixers, control systems, cabling and interconnects. You must be experienced in establishing and assessing the performance of complex RF systems, as well as in monitoring, troubleshooting, isolating failures and removing/replacing failed components in such systems. You must have the ability to read and understand design drawings, specifications and vendor technical documentation related to electromechanical systems. You must be capable of climbing and performing work at moderate heights above the ground. You must meet the requirements of an annual Maritime Physical examination.
Ability to communicate clearly in both verbal and written formats regarding technical issues. Experience in dealing with customer representatives and in coordinating actions with other contractors. Experience working in a maritime shipboard environment for extended periods. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of desktop application software. Familiar with Raytheon practices regarding technical documentation. Familiar with US Department of Defense testing and acceptance practices for facilities sub-systems.
This position is required to possess and maintain a government issued Secret Security Clearance, successfully pass an annual mariner physical examination. Ability to live and work with others in close quarters for long durations at sea. Exposure to heights will be required when being transported on and off the vessel and the ideal candidate will not be hindered by motion sickness.
